STILL IN ST. JOE
It looks like I will be here in St. Joseph, Missouri until at least next Thursday. It's not so bad, I need to be somewhere other than my home in Boise for my job and since we already worked San Diego, it is here that I must be.
After hearing about Fargo, N.D. from my friend Jack Sunday through the years, I get the feeling that the weather here could be called 'Fargo Light.' The current temperature is 8 degrees. This morning's low was 3 and today we got up to about 14. Oddly enough, the expected high on Saturday is 56. In North Dakota they get a good laugh when they hear about people who think a high temp in double digits is cold.
Speaking of Jack Sunday about whom I wrote last month when he was caught in the maelstrom of corporate radio and unfairly terminated from his job at KFGO. Jack has landed on his feet and will start a new gig at another station in Fargo next week. Jack is agood guy who is tremendously talented and I am very happy for him and his on-air partner, Sandy.
The more I travel and the more radio I listen to, the more I miss my former career as a broadcaster. I'm as good as most of these guys! I also miss my friend Jack. The flyer in my hotel room says that Fargo is just 569 miles away so perhaps he will come down for a visit. I also see that Omaha is 140 miles away, Tulsa 332, Memphis 570 and Des Moines 170.
I'll be watching the NFL Wild Card games this weekend. It seems that every year there is at least one upset in the wild card games so who will be victimized this year? I think San Diego and Indianapolis will both win handily. Because the Vikings tanked so badly late this season I give them little chance. That leaves the Rams as the only underdog that might break through. Watch out Seahawks!

Pete, I'd probably come on down, if I was still fired.....But, I go to work on Monday. Shoot, that would be cool. Or, as we say here, "...that would be cold as a bastard."
