I left Boise on Christmas morning and now I am finally back home! After spending time in Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri, I wound up in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. While there I was able to visit Dealey Plaza and the infamous book depository which has a museum on the 6th floor. The whole thing was an extremely powerful experience. I also wound up in Crawford, Texas on inauguration day. I tried to get interviewed by the Waco TV station that was doind a remote from a coffee shop, but they were booked. My media career has hit a new low. Now I can't even get on THE MORNING BUZZ on Waco's Channel 10! My final week in Texas was spent in Austin. My last day was free so I went to the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum. It was very cool with lots of exhibits that captured the spirit of the 60's beautifully. I spent almost four hours there before toddling off to Hooters for a late lunch. Austin is pretty cool and very hip. There is a river that runs through town. A river that they call Austin Lake. They have dubbed themselves the Live Music Capitol of the World. Perhaps you have seen Austin City Limits on PBS. I also went to the state Capitol Building and met President Bush's friend and campaign advisor Karen Hughes. She was cordial, but wary. I get that a lot.
I'll be in Boise for a few days before shipping off to Burbank, CA where we will inspect the rail for LA's Metro Link. That's the line where that nut parked his car on the tracks in order to kill himself before changing his mind and leaving the car which derailed a commuter train and killed 11 innocents on their way to work. And the nut thought he had problems before. He will probably plead insanity. Let's hope he gets what he deserves.
We all deserve a great day of revelry tomorrow, visiting with friends and enjoying the Super Bowl. The Pats should win, but I am not very good at the prediction game. Okay, I'll give it a shot: New England 35 - Philadelphia 17.
